Summer Wines (Part 2 of 2)

As a continuation of the Summer Wine series, I’ve selected wines that share the same characteristics of the June wines: bright acidity, low alcohol, minimal tannins. Surprising to many American red wine drinkers who prefer big, bold, tannic wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux-style wines, there are many red wine that have light tannins and higher acidity, making them a perfect compliment to summer. Also included is an off-dry Riesling from Australia, a benchmark wine from one of the country’s top producers.
